Sailor Moon Project Page

This section features some fun projects you can do yourself at home. Each includes a difficulty rating, a list of things you'll need, and an estimate of the time required to complete it. Note that you will need a printer (preferably a color printer) for all projects. You will also need some imaging software to help you print out the images (see below).

Before you start...

The successful completion of your project will depend to a large extent, on how well (and precisely!) you print the required image(s). Some imaging software will allow you to specify the exact size of your print-out. In such cases, always use the recommended dimensions. All of the following images were edited and tested with Photoshop 5.02. Other software you can use include shareware programs such as Paintshop Pro and ACDSee, both of which are widely available on the web.

Remember, the inks used by most printers are not waterproof. Be careful when handlung your print-outs! You will find that a thicker, heavier paper (similar to some of the "photo-quality" papers on the market) is desirable for some projects. Also note that you may need a parent's help with some parts of these projects.

Project 02:  Pencil Holder

Difficulty: Easy
Materials: Printer and printer paper; an empty soup can; glue.
Estimated Time: Under 15 minutes.

Create a Sailor Moon pencil holder to store all your writing tools.

Directions: 1) [Note: You may need your parents to help with this step] Wash and dry an empty soup can. Remove the label and as much glue as possible beneath it. Be sure there are no sharp edges around the can's rim;  2) Select the image of your choice and print it out. Be sure to set the dimensions of your print-out to 7.5 inches by 3.5 inches. The image won't fit properly if it isn't the correct size!; 3) Carefully glue your print-out around the soup can.

Be sure the image's width is set to 2 inches (the length will vary slightly from image to image); 2) Punch a small hole in the top center of the image, and tie one end of the string to it; 3) Tie the other end of the string to the clapper of the bell. Leave about 3 inches worth of string between the clapper and the paper; 4) Tie another piece of string to the top of the bell, and hang near an open door or window.
