Dawn of the Sea Queen:

Jewel of the Deep

The tide has come in. Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion rule over the Moon. I am back home on Neptune. Haruka has gone home after a long day visiting me. I don't understand why she's so protective of me. It's like I'm her only child or something. Normally this would all be ice, but we have developed our own solar energy around the planet so I can swim all year round here. I love the feeling of a warm sea breeze on my face. It's like a silk sheet gently soothing my face as I look at our synthesized setting sun. It gives the ocean before me a hint of gold. I believe I shall go take a dip before I must return to the palace. The water feels like a warm soft blanket wrapping itself around my lithe body. I can faintly hear the sound of a violin in the distance. I feel at perfect peace here, I am home at last.

The wedding in Crystal Tokyo was lovely. There were many lights and people gathered to see their new queen. A little too much for my taste. I prefer the calm serenity of the sea, swimming alongside the many colored fish, like gems in the bright blue water. I must return home to my underwater palace. On Earth, I would never have made it. But here, they have oxygen generators that give enough oxygen to the water that a human could breathe. That is also why our fish here are more vibrant and different then on Earth. The Palace is a dome underwater. It is basically a bubble of air (a giant one) that we keep contained with a special kind of seaweed that grows on the watery depths of Neptune. It smells strongly of the sea of course, but in the palace, I can play my violin. The music of my heart.

I have reached the palace. My subjects bow before me and I order them gently to please get me a cup of green tea. It always seems to soothe my nerves after an exhilarating swim in the waters of Neptune. They come with green tea AND a blow-dryer.   The one invention that the Earth developed that is used here. It is certainly handy for drying off once you've gone out for a swim. I drink my tea and look out the window in my chambers at the glittering figures flying by. What a joy it would be, to be a shimmering fish, as vibrant as the flowers and as swift as the sea currents. As free as a breeze too.

I lay in my seashell bed and dream of my next visit to the Moon. Chibi-Usa's birthday. She is such a sweet little girl! I think I'll compose I song for her. Yes, a song on my violin. She'll love it! Maybe for a present I'll get her a silver gown with light pink gloves, a silver tiara studded with pink diamonds, some pink diamond hanging earrings, and some silvery shoes to match it all up. She'll look lovely! Maybe I should sew them myself? It would certainly be more personal that way…yes I think I shall. I sit in my bed and think of these kinds of things every night. If only I had someone to share them with…oh well. I will take what blows destiny deals me and I will take the sweet kindness of fate. I will be alright. Everything is just peachy…

I awoke this morning with a terrible headache.  I must have been thinking too hard last night. The maids fuss that I've seen too much of the few shores of Neptune and that the air is giving me headaches. Pooh! I would rather die than not feel the sea-breeze every morning! Personally, I think that it's too much rich food that these maids insist I have that's giving me health problems. You see, I have been weak lately, very weak. I can't even swim as strongly as I could before. Yet I only find comfort in the breezes of the shore and the gentle heartbeat of the sea. They are my only friends other than the fish that I can see every day. I hate to say this, but I get tired of Haruka sometimes. She's more of a fuss than my maids! Yet I wish there was someone I COULD see every day, and not be bored of.  Someone who loved me, that I loved back… oh here I go daydreaming again! I had better slip out while I have the chance!

I once more feel the gentle waves beat down on my pale face as I swim with the fish. The fish are like my dress when I swim. They swim up to me and around me floating playfully by my side. They are my very best friends here. Them and the gulls above. Earth gave us them long ago to try and see if they would live on this far away planet. They did and they thrive now. There are many different species of gulls and here, they are bright colors. Shades of deep orange, forest green, shimmering blue like the sea and crimson now flood our skies. They are my company on the shores and I will sometimes play for them there. Our mixed harmonies fill the skies and we are joyful. Anytime I am free from my royal duties, I am here. In either the paradise of land or sea.

I must return to the palace soon. I need to pack for my voyage to Pluto. I decided to go there to get away from it all and visit my good friend Setsuna. She is always very understanding about my feelings and I can tell almost anything to her. Another thing I love about her is she knows almost everything I could possibly want or need. I hear that they are in the middle of constructing a pool and making holographic fish that can be projected as well as shores around it with holographic gulls. She sends word that they're literally creating another Neptune for me! I feel so excited! Another great thing about Pluto is that you get to skate around everywhere. It is very cold, but last year for my birthday, Setsuna sent me a beautiful coat, and it's VERY warm and fuzzy. I just can't wait till we leave!!!

I am on board my personal space-craft, the Aquaria. I have my very own chambers there and there is technology that creates gravity, so I can swim in a pool too. Everything is a beautiful aquamarine color and I can almost see Pluto in the distance. The most wonderful thing about traveling is that I am free of maids! I only have the captain and the pilots here and they never visit me. I have a food-synthesizer that can create any food I want out of thin air and I have my violin to play. Everything is perfect on board. I think I shall go take a swim and then go into the anti-gravity room. The only room without the gravity technology.

I feel currents in the pool. At first, I thought it was the beat of the sea, being so used to it, I ignored it for a while. Now I realize I am not in the sea and that something is wrong. As if on cue, the pilot and captain's shouting can be heard from here. I must get out of the pool quickly and go on to the bridge. As soon as I get there I'll ask what's going on. I'm finally there. I don't need to ask at all. A man, an evil looking man, stands on an asteroid nearby. He is blasting fireballs at the ship!!!! I shout my transformation phrase and rush out in a bubble of air. "Who are you!?" I shout. He laughs. "I am Alpha Gala, Negaru Atomica's right hand man! You are going to be dust in a few minutes!!!!"

I narrowly dodge his fireballs. He laughs louder. "You have fallen for my trick Michiru! I can now zap your power from you!!!" I am not fast enough. His beam of black light reaches me and I feel my powers being drained. I fall to my knees as I de-transform.

A shriek so terrible rips out from my mouth. It is like I am losing my life bit by bit. Suddenly, I heard the shriek of Alpha. I was too weak to see what happened. The next thing I knew, I was being carried back into the ship in strong arms.

I looked up as my eyes opened. I am being held by a man. His face is kind, yet strong. His eyes bore a hole into me. They are a deep blue and I feel like they are the sea, and I am sinking in. Deeper, and deeper. His hair is a dark blue, navy and attractively messy and short. "You are safe princess. Oh yes, here's an inside tip. You look kinda cute in that bathing suit." He smiles and gently puts me on the ground. I'm sure I am as crimson as a rose right now. "Who are you!?" I call out unexpectedly. But he's gone.
