Chapter 10 - Eternal Love
Helios’s and Rini’s wedding was very beautiful. It was a real royal wedding that was outside overlooking the landscape. There was the shimmering Crystal Palace in the background of the main platform.
The main platform had many, many flowers surrounding it, the podium was covered with flowers, and the crystal piano had flowers as well. Hundreds and hundreds of chairs lined the grass with rows and rows of people from all over Crystal Tokyo and the Royal Court attending. Everyone wanted to witness the wedding of Small Lady Serenity and Guardian Priest Helios.
Neo-Queen Serenity sat in the front row, with all of the princess’ of the planets. Luna was also there in her human form. Artemis was Helios’ best man, in his human form, of course. Diana stood on the platform in her human form, as Rini’s maid of honor.
The priest stood at the podium and at a sign from the King, he signaled the piano player to start.
The wedding music started playing, and Helios waited nervously on the head platform. The bridesmaids were girls that the Queen had chosen. Then came the flower girl and the ring bearer. Finally, after what seemed like forever, there came King Endimion and Princess Serenity.
Helios marveled at how beautiful Rini was. She wore a gorgeous wedding gown and her face hid behind a veil. They walked in motion with the music and Rini came at last to the platform at last as the King sat down.
They stood facing each other, oblivious to the introduction the priest was giving. All they could see was each other. Luckily, Rini’s face was behind a veil or else everyone would have seen her blushing at Helios’ deep gaze.
After a time, the important part of the ceremony came. “Do you Small Lady Serenity, heir to King Endimion and Neo-Queen Serenity, Princess and next ruler of Crystal Tokyo, take Guardian Priest Helios, foreseer of Elysium, to be your royally joined spouse through sickness and in health, through good times and bad, light and darkness, till death do you part?” the Priest recited.
“Not even death could do us part,” Rini thought.
“I do take Guardian Priest Helios to be my prince,” Rini said without difficulty. “Do you Guardian Priest Helios, Guardian of the Golden Crystal and High Priest of Elysium, take thee Small Lady Serenity, Princess of Crystal Tokyo, to be your joined spouse, through sickness and in health, through good times and in bad, through light and darkness, until death should do you apart?” He repeated.
“We will never be apart,” Helios thought.
“I take thee Small Lady Serenity to be my princess,” Helios said with no trouble. “I now pronounce you, to Crystal Tokyo and Elysium, joined rulers and spouses for all time.” The priest declared. “The rings,” he ordered.
The ring bearer brought the rings over. They put them on each other’s fingers. “You may now kiss the Princess,” the priest told Helios.
Helios lifted Rini’s veil and slowly kissed his only love. Rini blushed at first, but is passed quickly. Their love flowed to each other and it was then when they both knew they would never be separated and that their doubts were for naught.
Tears streamed down Rini’s face and when she opened her eyes, her heart was beating uncontrollably. Helios gently wiped his hand against her face and gazed into her eyes, making her cry ever more. She smiled and then threw her bouquet to the crowd.
As the crowd was cheering and Rini’s friends and family crying for joy, they faced each other and Helios whispered, “My beautiful, sweet Rini, you will always have my heart,” he said. “I love you so,” Helios told his love.
“My golden-winged angel, you will always have my heart, too,” she whispered. “I’ll always love you,” she sputtered out before she broke down in tears again.
Helios held his love tightly, and Rini clutched her angel back. They were as one again, never to be apart, destined for all eternity.
