When they got back to the palace, Helios seemed a bit nervous about something. “Is something wrong, Helios?” Rini asked. “Can I ask you a question, Rini?” Helios said. “Sure,” Rini answered.

“Well, it’s a very important question, and I’ll give you some time to think about it,” Helios continued. “And you don’t have to answer right away,” he said. “What is it already?” Rini persisted. “Rini, I mean Princess Rini, will…will…will you marry me?” Helios finally asked.

This question took Rini by complete, utter surprise. But she knew the answer. Or did she? She had her family to think about, and her position. If she married Helios, she would become a true princess. She’d have a lot more responsibility.

But, she concluded, she loved Helios more than anything, even if she couldn’t show it. Yes, she did, she loved Helios and wanted to be with him forever. Her life would be nothing without him.

“Rini?” Helios asked. “Are you ready to answer now are later?” he offered. Helios didn’t know how Rini would react to this kind of question. “Yes,” she said simply. “Yes?” Helios repeated. “I will marry you,” Rini said.

Helios then ran to Rini and picked her up in his arms. “We must spread the news!” Helios exclaimed. “How will I tell my parents?” Rini wondered. “They won’t expect a thing like this,” she doubted. “Don’t worry, my love,” Helios said. “I will tell them.” “You?” “But…” “I’ll explain everything,” Helios compromised. “Thanks,” Rini said gratefully.

Later in the day, after Helios and Rini talked a bit more, Helios asked Rini to come with him to tell her parents.

Rini found her mother and father and approached them first. “Mom, Dad, there’s someone I want you to meet,” she began. “This is Helios,” her parents looked at each other then at Rini. “Helios? What do you mean Helios?” King Endimion said.

“Hello, your majesty,” Helios greeted the King. “Helios? Is it really you?” King Endimion said with disbelief. “Why it is, your majesty, and don’t worry, I have been guarding your Golden Crystal,” Helios told him.

“I can’t believe it’s actually you, Helios,” Neo-Queen Serenity said. “I suppose you could say I came to visit, your Highness,” Helios winked at Rini.

After Helios fully explained why he was here, he was about to ask the important question. “Your Majesty, your Highness, I would like you to know that I love your daughter very much,” Helios commenced.

Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endimion glanced at each other again. “And there is one question that I would like to ask,” he continued. “What could that question be?” the Queen inquired. “I would like to ask you for your daughter’s hand in marriage,” Helios stated.

The King and Queen both looked very shocked. “Well, this is very sudden…” King Endimion stuttered out. “We must have time to discuss this…” Neo-Queen Serenity explained.

“What if they say no?” Rini said when they left. “We could always go to Elysium and get married there,” Helios considered. Rini smiled and so did Helios.
