It's already the end of the series! I can't believe that it ended up so short. Well, this chapter may seem familiar; it's a version of my contest entry, only now it fits my story line a little better, and there's an alternative ending! The next series will hopefully finish quicker since I have a lot of time on my hands for the next week. Thanx to all that made this series possible. Esspecially you readers!

Disclaimer; No I still don't own Sailor Moon. T_T But all the characters (or creatures) mentioned in this story are mine, except the unicorns. ^_^

Zodia Aquarius Saga
Chapter 7: Trust or Disaster?

Kyata sat down with her back against a wall. "What am I doing here? I shouldn't be here. It's a pointless trip anyway." Kyata was in the city ruins near Haven City. It was about the middle of the night, but that didn't matter much. The dome that protected the city from air pollution made it extremely dark, even during the day.

Kyata's light blue hair was held back with a white elastic head wrap. A long, sky blue sarong was tied around her waist like a skirt. The pale light made her look like a spirit of the night.

These ruins were special to Kyata, especially after she became a Sailor Zodia. It was forbidden to enter the ruins, and Kyata didn't care anymore. No one patrolled the area.

Kyata took the small invite out of her pocket again. It said 'Come to Gaeto's Party!'. "Oh, I wish I could," Kyata sighed. "Gaeto, I love you, but I can't love you. My duty is to protect the universe and the dream plane."

"Kyata, those are stupid reason's not to go. You shouldn't let your duty get in the way of love. I think you're scared," a small voice said.

"Go away. I hate you, Chi." Kyata was not particularly fond of her familiar, and her current bad mood about her position made her more frustrated than usual.

"You wouldn't want to do that Kyata. I am the one who will help you save the world someday."

"But you're also the one who tricked me into being a Sailor Zodia. I never wanted this."

"If you want to go to Gaeto's party, just slip out with a nice dress. I'll help you."

"Fine. As long as you promise nothing will happen. You know where my house is. Be there."

"Alright." The little fox slipped into the shadows. Kyata got up and walked home.

*~*~*~*~*

Kyata opened her bedroom door. She took out a messenger style back and began to pack clothes for the party. After she gathered all her things grabbed her purse and opened up the window. She climbed down a nearby tree to the lowest branch where she fell.

"You are so clumsy Kyata. You should have your parents buy you lessons to teach you how to be graceful."

"Shut up, Chi. What do you know?"

"I know a short cut."

"One that I don't already know? Or is it another trick?"

"You can trust me, or you don't go to Gaeto's party," Chi replied. Chi led Kyata through the orchard behind the house. There was a bright flash and the landscape changed. Kyata stood alone in a dark and desolate land. Whether she was on the dream-plane, or some planet far away.

"CHI! I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!" Kyata yelled to the sky.

"You can handle this, or are you as weaker than I thought…"

*~*~*~*~*

Kyata took a look around her. There was nothing but rocks and dust for miles. She was in her scout uniform, and luckily she still had her purse.

"I want to get this over with as soon as possible. But how do I know where that stupid fox wants me to go if there's no trails or clues?" Then Kyata saw a light in the distance. "I guess that's the way to go."

*~*~*~*~*

Kyata finally reached the light. It was smaller than she expected, but it was in the middle of a large crater. Kyata walked into the crater and found the light was being emitted from a small stone. She picked up the stone and looked it over. "Wow, it's like a huge diamond," she said to herself as she put the jewel into her purse.

Then there was a flicker in the shadows behind her. Kyata turned around quickly. The shadows all around her began to move, and they slowly began swarm around her in a large circle.

"What do you want?" Kyata tried to yell. But the shadows made a loud hissing noise which made it impossible for one to hear anything else. "Please, stop!"

The shadows began to slow down, and they finally stopped as she wished. When the shadows stopped they began to take the shapes of human-dragons, like the agents of the Dragon Mistress. "Sailor Aquarius…" one of the shadows said as it stepped forward. "Sailor Aquarius, give us the stone…"

"Why didn't you take it before me?" Kyata asked.

"You were quicker than us. But that does not matter. The stone belongs to us. Give it to us…"

"Why? Why do you want it so much?"

"Do not ask questions fool…"

She knew that if the shadows had so much interest in the stone that it must be very valuable. "Well if you want this stone, you'll have to take it from me!" Kyata yelled. The shadows began to laugh. It was a horrible, high pitched, raspy laugh. The sound ringed in Kyata's ears, and she could barely hold on to her sanity.

"Stellar Wave!" Kyata yelled. A small bubble of water formed around her, and it began expand outward rapidly. The bubble destroyed every one of the shadows it touched, but it exploded after it reached the size of a two-story house.

The shadows attacked back. They clawed at her and destroyed her purse, where she had stored the jewel. Kyata managed to grab the stone before the shadows did.

Kyata tried another attack, only needing her one of her hands to perform this one and holding the jewel with the other. "Cosmic Typhoon!" A pillar of water began to spiral up above her, and then it crashed down around her with an awesome blast. The force of the blast eliminated several of the shadows, but for every shadow Kyata finished off two more took its place. She tried the Cosmic Typhoon attack three more times. Each attack seemed to barely scratch the shadow forces.

Kyata fell to her knees and held the stone close to her chest. "I can't keep this up!" She had already exhausted most of her strength with the powerful Cosmic Typhoon attacks. "They're going to destroy me! I'm only 15! I've got a whole life to live!" The shadows closed in around her. The closest ones two Kyata were less than two feet away, and the space was disappearing quickly.

"I wish I was back home! Nooooo!" Kyata screamed. Then the stone flashed and the scene transformed again.

*~*~*~*~*

Now stars surrounded Kyata. She couldn't tell what she was standing on, but it was invisible and felt solid.

"Hello, Sailor Aquarius." Kyata turned around to find a young woman in a flowing white dress.

"Who are you?" Kyata asked.

"I am Neo Queen Serenity. And that stone that you have in you hands is the Imperial Silver Crystal."

"Imperial Silver Crystal…" Kyata stared at the Crystal in amazement.

"Yes, it is one of the most powerful things in the universe. It was once mine, but my time has passed. You must never let that Crystal fall into the enemy's hands."

"The enemy? You mean the Dark Zodia Dragons?"

"I have chosen you to keep the Imperial Silver Crystal."

"Why me? There are other Sailor Zodia out there who are much stronger than me."

"That you will also know in time. Remember, keep it safe."

"Wait!" Kyata cried. But the woman and the stars had already begun to swirl and disappear. The setting changed one last time.

*~*~*~*~*

Kyata was back in the ruins. It was still night. Her uniform was gone, and so was her purse.

"Was it all a dream?" Kyata asked herself. Then she found the Imperial Silver Crystal at lying at her feet. "No. This wretched Crystal almost destroyed me."

"Kyata, you accomplished your mission." Chi appeared from behind a pile of rubble.

"Chi, I really should kill you. You had no intention of bringing me back before those shadow-things annihilated me."

"I knew that you could save your self. You don't need me to do everything for you. You retrieved the Crystal on your own, without help from me or from your allies."

"But you still ruined my night. It's three in the morning! I'll never make it to my house to get another dress and then the party now!"

"I brought some party cloths for you," Chi said as she pulled a plastic bag out from behind the rubble pile. "You could still make it and stay for at least an hour it if you catch the mono-rail in time."

"What are you, my fairy god-mother?" The fox and the girl stood there for what seemed like eternity, and they said nothing to each other. "Chi?"

"Yes, Kyata?"

"Thanks." Kyata ran off into the darkness of the city with the bag Chi brought for her.

"Hello, it's been a while," said a voice behind Chi. She tuned around to find Psyche the lareon, a creature that looked very much like a lion cub that is as high as one's knees. He also had a pendant, but his was made of pure rose jade.

"Hello, Psyche," Chi cooed in a mock sympathy voice. Chi rubbed up against him like a cat and made a rough purr.

"Uh…" A sweet bead formed on Psyche's brow. "Chi are you alright?"

"Of course I am!" Chi replied in a sweet tone.

"Seriously Chi, I hope Sailor Aquarius enjoys the party. It will be her last night on earth."

"Already?" Chi queried with an amazed voice.

"Sagittarius want all the Sailor Zodia to meet at the unicorns' field tomorrow. Get there as early as possible, but, please, give the girls as much rest as you can."

"Right. Take care of yourself until then Psyche. I would hate to go into battle without another with as many years of experience as me." The lareon disappeared, and Chi looked up to the stars. "So, tomorrow is the day of judgment?" she asked herself. "I hope the girls are ready. This battle will decide the fate of the universe."

WHAT WILL COME NEXT?
This is it! Keep an eye out for the two parallel series The Zodia Aries Saga and The Zodia Leo Saga. And after those, well let me put it this way; I don't know what will happen to our Scouts either!
