Hiya! Another chapter coming at you, but this one isn't quite as long. ^_^ I think that's a good thing. I somehow managed to type it all up today, despite the fact I have a cold. *Yawn* No, I don't own Sailor Moon but I do own all the characters in this story. When your done you can flame me at lildragon@snet.net . Thanx a bunch! -Pretty Sammi
Kyata, Omiru, Aspasia, and Sutaru were sitting on a bench in the local mall, slurping blue raspberry icies together.
"Wow, the food on Earth is so good," Sutaru said as she finished hers off.
"My, Sutaru," Aspasia commented, "You eat so fast."
"Well you would to if you skipped breakfast," she retorted.
Omiru quickly finished her icy too, but Kyata silently sipped hers. "Hey, what's up Kyata?" Omiru asked.
"Just thinking," Kyata replied.
"Thinking about what?" Aspasia inquired. "Boys?"
"How did you guess?" Kyata said.
"More importantly, who?" Sutaru queried.
"I know," Omiru bragged. "It's that guy over there," she said as she pointed to a guy browsing through some CDs in a nearby store.
"Yeah," Kyata said as turned beet red.
"Who is he?" Aspasia wondered.
"Well, he was in the swim triathlon last weekend. We met before the event began, but I don't know his name or anything," she explained.
"So just go and ask him," Omiru commanded Kyata.
"Well, I've never had a boyfriend before," Kyata began blushing even more, this time with embarrassment.
"Gosh," Sutaru said, "I'm not even from earth, and I've had a boyfriend. You are a sad case Kyata."
"I know, I know," she sighed.
"Girls, it seems we have a new mission," Omiru stated. "We have to hook Kyata up with this guy."
~*~*~*~*~
"It's not that hard," Aspasia insisted. "Just say something along the lines of 'Remember me? Congrats, great job last weekend, what's your name? Maybe we could grab a bite to eat.' Believe me Kyata, this guy is not going to come to you."
"Alright, I'll try my best. Just stop nagging me," Kyata groaned. All of them laughed.
"Ok good luck Kyata," Omiru said. Kyata got up and started walking to the CD shop. "Look, our little girl, all grown up…"
"And going out into the big world," Sutaru finished.
~*~*~*~*~
Kyata nervously approached the guy. Her emotions swirled, and she tried to straighten out her confused mind in her last second preparations. "Hi," she squeaked.
"She's going to blow it," Aspasia sighed as she peeped around the corner into the shop.
"No she's not. Just wait," Omiru argued.
"We really should leave her alone," Sutaru persisted.
The guy turned to look. "Oh, do I know you?" he asked. "Now that's a silly question, you're the girl who did so well at the swim competition last Saturday. Congratulations."
'That takes care of that. So much for congratulating him,' Kyata thought. "You did a great job too."
"My name's Gaeto," he said.
"I'm Kyata," she said silently. "I thought it would be nice if we could talk or something."
"Right now?" Gaeto said looking at his watch. "I guess that would be fine. I don't have any plans for this afternoon. How about we go to the ice cream place here. There are a few tables we could sit at."
"Sure, that would be great," Kyata said. She and Gaeto took off in the direction of the ice cream parlor together.
"I told you she could pull this off," Omiru bragged. Aspasia playfully stuck out her tongue.
"Will you two knock it off," Sutaru moaned.
~*~*~*~*~
"So, how long have you been swimming?" Gaeto asked her as they waited in line at the counter of the ice cream parlor.
"For as long as I can remember," Kyata responded. "My parents say that I was floating around in the pool since I was two."
"That's really cool. What kind of ice cream do you want? It's almost our turn."
"I can buy my own," she said.
"No, this one is on me," Gaeto said.
"If you insist," Kyata replied.
"Oh but I do," he said.
Kyata laughed. "I like the mint chocolate chip with hot fudge."
"What a coincidence, that's my favorite too."
"Those two go together like bread and butter," Aspasia said with an amazed look on her face. The three girls were hiding behind a thin wall on a nearby ramp.
"It's not fair. I want a boy friend like him," Omiru whined.
"You know what they say," Aspasia giggled, "Boys are like parking spaces; the good ones are always taken."
"You know what they also say?" Sutaru added. "Good friends don't spy on each other."
"You're no fun sometimes," Aspasia pouted.
~*~*~*~*~
Kyata and Gaeto sat at a small table near the exit of the ice cream parlor together while they ate their ice cream, and for quite a while after that.
"It's 4 already!" Gaeto exclaimed when he finally noticed the time on his watch.
"Is it really that late? It seems like we haven't been here for that long," Kyata said.
"I guess time flies," Gaeto sighed. "I've got to go soon. My parents are really paranoid about me being out for too long when they don't know where I went."
"That's Ok. I'm sad that you have to leave. I had a lot of fun talking to you," Kyata said.
"Me too. We should get together again. How about dinner tomorrow night?"
"Are you asking me out on a date?" Kyata giggled.
"Uh, yes. I guess you could call it that," Gaeto said nervously. "Nothing fancy, of course. Just hanging out together."
"That's a good idea," Kyata agreed. "I'm not crazy about rushing into a relationship with anyone.'
"You a good kid, do you know that? All the girls I've met are itching to have their first kiss."
"I'm not all the girls you've met, am I?" Kyata giggled again. "I've got another idea. How about you come over to my place tomorrow instead of going to dinner. We can just watch a few movies and have some snacks."
"Sure, whatever works," Gaeto said. "I'll need your phone number so we can work things out."
The two exchanged numbers, and Gaeto stood up. "I had a great time. I'll call you tonight," he said.
"Talk to you later," Kyata said as he left.
"Wow, he is such a cool guy to have for a boyfriend," Omiru said as she popped up behind Kyata.
"He's not my boyfriend," Kyata said defensively.
"Let's look at the check list then, shall we?" Aspasia asked as appeared beside Omiru. "Number one, you sat her talking with each other for an hour and thirty minutes. Number two, you have several things in common. Number three, you exchanged phone numbers. Must I go on?"
"I get the picture," Kyata said. "So I like him, is there any thing wrong with that? Hey wait a minute, how'd you know we exchanged phone numbers and all that stuff?"
Omiru elbowed Aspasia and whispered, "Busted."
"They spied on you the whole time," Sutaru tattled as she swallowed a mouthful of her frozen yogurt. "I'll tell you now that I had nothing to do with it."
"You traitor!" Aspasia accused her. Omiru, Sutaru and Aspasia began to throw blame at each other.
"I don't know what I'm going to do with you three," Aspasia said. "Oh well, life goes on."
