It's the begining of the end, or is it the end of the begining? I finally sat down and wrote the ending for the Aquarius, Aries, and Leo sagas, and this is the first part. I've tried to keep it from being to confusing, but with so many important characters it's not an easy task. I don't own any part of Sailor Moon, but I do own all the characters in this story. The Fate of the Sailor Zodia - Chapter 1

Sailor Sagittarius stood in the doorway of her small house, looking out onto the field directly in front of her, and smiled. All of the Sailor Zodias united in one place, for the first time in a thousand years.

United, at least, in body. There was still the small issue of a hopelessly inconsolable Dark Zodia Dragon Warrior wearing a Sailor Zodia battle uniform, which was unusually black as opposed to the usual white body suit and accented with only one color instead of two: red. She spent most of her time sitting around, and seemed to have some sort of death wish.

Chi approached Sagittarius in her human form, which she had decided she would use for a while. Her long white hair was only shoulder length now. She had cut it after she decided it was a distraction. "What are we going to do with her?" she wondered aloud as they turned to face Miazan. "She won't train, she won't listen, she won't do anything. But I've not felt a power like hers in any of the other girls."

"I know," Sagittarius replied in her calm, melodious voice. "We can't leave for our final battle until we re united in mind as well as body."

"She doesn't make any sense," Psyche remarked as he came up behind them in his true form, which he had also decided to use. "I can't read her very well, but she does play an important part in the future of everything."

Aquarius (Kyata) came up to stand behind them. She had been the most open of all the Sailor Zodias toward their surprising ally. "I feel so…hopeless. That flower is one that refuses to blossom."

"Kyata…?" Chi was always stunned when Sailor Aquarius went into her sensible, philosophic moods. It was at these sort of times when Aquarius didn't seem to mind the inevitable coarse destiny chose for her, though she usually detested it and detested Chi even more for bringing it upon her. Unfortunately these moods didn't last long. 'Well, at least she is willing to carry out her duties as a Sailor Zoida,' Chi thought. 'Another reluctant scout and I don't know what we'd do.'

The mood passed. "See ya," Aquarius said as she pushed past the three in the doorway. She sat down in a chair next to Miazan and tried to start a conversation.

Aries (Serenissima) was the other scout who was not accounted for. She spent most of her time in the fields behind the house with her familiar, Epona. No one knew what they were doing back there, and no one disturbed them either to find out either.

In their spare time, the girls did a little bit of exploring, and, whenever possible, got rid of some of the menacing dark trees that were draining the dream plane of it's life.

The rest of the Sailor Zodias, Aries and company, had only arrived a couple of days ago, so even though they hadn't spent much time together yet, they were already well acquainted with each other, and with the unicorns as well. Sagittarius's unicorns were becoming fond of the girls, and the foals were having a blast playing with them. Although, conflicts did spring up every now and then. For example, Pieces and Gemini Major somehow got off on the wrong foot, and they've been avoiding each other to some extent.

When Sagittarius, Chi, and Psyche decided the girls had been well rested, they held a meeting on the fields in front of the house. All of the Sailor Zodias were present except one. Sailor Cancer. The girls arranged themselves in a semi-circle on the grass, and Chi, Psyche, and Sagittarius sat at the front.

"As you all know, our final battle is approaching," Sagittarius said.

"The reason we held this meeting," Chi added, "Was to discuss possible methods of attack, and elect a leader."

"First of all," Psyche said, "I understand we have come to be in the possession of the Silver Imperial Crystal." He smiled at Aquarius, who blushed a bit as all the others turned to face her as well.

"What's that?" Taurus (Evangeline) asked.

"I know," Aries said. "It's a very powerful crystal that once belonged Princess Serenity, one of the Solar Sailor Scouts, from Earth's moon. Princess Serenity was one of my ancestors, but it's so far back no one can do a good job tracing it. I'm not a direct descendant, but I'm close to one."

"The Imperial Silver Crystal," Chi informed them, "will be controlled by our leader, but we will need all our power to use it. Do you understand?"

"How can we all use it?" Gemini Major (Saffron) queried.

"We will know when the time comes. That is all I can tell you," Sagittarius said.

"On to the matter of our leader," Psyche changed the subject. "Any nominations?"

"Who do you think it should be? I think we trust you more than our selves," Pisces (Sutaru) commented. She received murmurs and nods of agreement from the others.

"You probably wouldn't trust us on THIS," Psyche said, "but we believe that Miazan, Sailor Cancer, would make the best leader."

"Her?" Gemini Minor (Sophia) gasped, not with envy but with surprise. "She hardly seems the best candidate. I mean, she's been sulking ever since she got here, she's never been in battle, and to top it off she's a Dragon Warrior!"

"Well you are wrong on one count," Leo (Kitty) pointed out. "Since she once was with the enemy, and one of the top generals at that, she has seen more battles than all of us put together."

"And let us not forget," Virgo (Omiru) said, "That since she was an enemy once she will have the most knowledge about the Dark Dragon Clan, and that could be a great advantage especially if she were leading us."

"Besides that," Aries said rather softly, "She has a right to be so depressed, and not to mention a little confused. Put yourself in her shoes for a moment. She is going to fight against everything she was raised to believe. Maybe she just needs a little more time."

"And THAT'S exactly why she shouldn't be our leader," Capricorn (Aspasia) pointed out. "She might turn on us at any time. And how do we know she's even going to fight with us?"

"I trust her," Aquarius said. "Let's vote for or against her. I think we've covered her good and bad sides."

Chi nodded. "All those in favor of Cancer leading us, stand up." The vast majority stood up quickly. Those few reluctant ones got up just a bit more slowly, but in the end it was unanimous.

"Right, Cancer is officially our leader," Sagittarius announced.

"If she accepts," Scorpio (Ashlin) sighed.

"Let me talk to her about it," Aquarius volunteered.

"I'll go with you," Psyche offered.

"Alright."

"So, what now?" Libra (Mercedes) asked as the two strolled into the house.

"We wait for an answer," Taurus answered as she fell back and looked at the sky.

~*~*~*~*~

Sailor Cancer had been listening thoughtfully to Aquarius explained their situation, with the occasional correction or comment from Psyche, who was standing by a window and looking out to the field where the others waited.

"So you see, we elected you," Aquarius explained.

"Me?" Cancer was rather startled. She hadn't expected this sort of outcome.

"There was a lot of debate about it, but in the end we thought you were best qualified," Psyche told her.

Cancer looked extremely confused, and shook her head. "I don't know."

"If you don't want to then we'll have another election, but I still believe you're the best," Aquarius said as she stood up to leave, prepared to announce the news to her companions.

"They really trusted me?" Cancer asked.

Aquarius turned around to face her. "Yes."

~*~*~*~*~

The sky swiftly clouded over as the Sailor Zodias waited outside. Lightning flashed and thunder boomed in the distance. Suddenly lightning struck nearby. It scared the unicorns, and they were gone within seconds.

Inside Psyche, Aquarius and Cancer scrambled to the window. After the unicorns' hasty leave they saw their friends were virtually unharmed, although a little shaken.

~*~*~*~*~

Tizania stood on a hill nearby watching the Sailor Zodias. It's time, she thought. Lightning crashed nearby and caused the unicorns to flee. She gripped the palm-sized black jewel tighter and black energy began to glow around it. She counted once more, twelve figures, twelve Zodias. She extended her right arm and clutched the black gem.

She devoted her mind and energy to the crystal, and finally she gained control of it. Then she began the attack. A black circle formed around the Sailor Zodia, and a black wave sprung out of the circle and trapped them inside. Lightning rippled over the surface of the dome until it was impossible to see inside.

"Perfect," Tizania laughed. The only thing left to do was report back to the Mistress. It was time finish these pests off.
