The First of the Zodiac Senshi

My name is Mojo I’m a black longhaired cat. I’m the guide cat of Mindy and Wendy Duet. They had no idea of the adventures that were about to happen to them. They just moved to Japan from Colorado, USA. The girls were accepted into the International University. This university has students from all over the world. It also has all kinds of different majors. My girls are very gifted in music. Mindy is the singer and Wendy writes the songs and plays the guitar.

Here is where their story begins: "Mojo, pretty kitty! Isn’t it so cool! I love it here in Tokyo." Mindy had me in her arms and was swinging me around. She has short blond hair while Wendy has very long blond hair. I don’t think they want to look like twins, but they are. Both have green eyes.

"Poor, baby! You shouldn’t throw him around so much! I hope he likes it here in Japan." Wendy said as she walked into the room. I did like Japan and for the first time I was starting to wake up. The Gemini symbol on my forehead was just reappearing.

"Hey what is on his head? Do you think he is sick?" Mindy gave me to Wendy.

"How weird. I don’t know what it is." She said and petted me lovingly.

"It is my Gemini symbol!" I spoke my first words defiantly.

"Oh my God! Did he just talk?" the girls said in unison.

"Yes, I did. I just woke up and it is time for you to wake up also." I did a somersault in the air and a broach landed on the bed next to the two girls. The broach was broken into two stars one violet and one teal. The teal one had an arm that connected to the violet one.

"What is that thing and how come you can talk?" Mindy asked. Wendy had already picked up the violet broach. She always loved purple.

"The two of you make up the first of the Zodiac Senshi. You are Sailors Gemini. I am your guide cat to help you find the rest of the senshi and to stop Queen Cassiopeia’s Constellation Alliance." The girls looked at me with black faces. They were obviously dumbfounded.

"Who or what is Queen Cassiopeia and the Constellation Alliance? And…" Mindy began.

Wendy interrupted with, "What’s a senshi and what does Sailors Gemini mean?" They always seemed to finish each other’s sentences.

"You two have a lot of questions, but that makes sense. Okay, I’ll tell you as much as I can remember. Queen Cassiopeia made the Constellation Alliance to stop the Zodiac senshi. She was upset that only the zodiac constellations were given Sailor Crystals and please don’t ask about that just yet!

A senshi is a group of warriors or soldiers of good that protect the universe. When you have to fight, all you have to do is put the stars together and say ‘Sailors Gemini Make-Up!" and you will become Sailors Gemini. You will have powers to help you stop the Alliance." I jumped into Mindy’s lap and she petted me.

"You mean we are special? We have to save the world?" Mindy asked me.

"I think you read your star charts wrong! It can’t be us and anyway how do you know for sure." Wendy argued as she threw her half of the broach down.

I jumped onto the ground and shone my symbol onto their foreheads and the same symbol appeared on theirs. The girls touched their foreheads and nodded with belief. Then they each picked up their side of the broach and pinned them to their shirts.

"Ahh, so you believe, good. I’m sure the Alliance must be making a comeback or we wouldn’t have woken up. I don’t know what they are after, I never have." I then rubbed the girl’s legs and jumped on a chair next to the window.

"Well, I hope it isn’t today. We have our first class in music. Mojo, we’ll talk about it when we get back." Mindy told me as they got their backpacks ready.

"I can’t let you go alone. If they find you, you won’t know what to do." I argued.

"Don’t worry we’ll remember that chant-thingy you said earlier." Wendy said and then the girls walked out the door.

I decided to follow them. It wasn’t very hard for a black cat to hide in the shadows behind a couple of giggly girls. They live in a dorm that is on campus so it didn’t take them very long to get to their music class.

Just as they began to walk into the classroom a man appeared. "So Sailors Gemini have finally awoken. I’ve looked very long and hard for you. Do you know where the Horoscope Stone is?" The man was dressed in an ancient Greek uniform and had three crystals on his belt. He was very tall and blond.

"Who are you?" again the girls said in unison.

"I’m Orion and I work for the most beautiful Queen. Now hand over the Stone!" Orion yelled and then fired sparks from his belt.

"Girls use the broach!" I yelled and ran out to meet them.

The girls looked at each other and nodded. Then they put the two stars together and said, "Sailors Gemini Make-Up!"

All of a sudden there was bright light and the girls went under a transformation. Soon the 22-year old girls were replaced with Sailors Gemini. I was so proud of them until Wendy said, "Oh this outfit is so pretty! I love purple!"

"Girls concentrate!" I bellowed.

Orion shot sparks yet again. My girls said together "Double Gemini Kick" Then they flew at him and kicked him hard in the chest.

"Where is the Stone?" Orion grunted as he stood back up.

"We don’t have your stupid stone!" Mindy yelled.

"Yeah!" agreed Wendy.

"I see you don’t know much so I’ll be back after you find more zodiac sailors. Maybe then you’ll have a clue about the Horoscope Stone. Now, I think Ursa Minor and Ursa Major can have a go at you." Orion disappeared in a puff of smoke and two constellations of stars appeared. These stars formed two bears. The two bears were brown and they had crystals at pivotal points on their bodies. One bear was bigger than the other bear.

"What do we do now?" questioned Wendy

"Use the magic that is deep inside of you." The voice came from a dark-haired man. This man also had a Greek uniform on and he had crystals on his body. The bears then advanced on him. He took the fall instead of my sailors.

After the girls saw him thrown to the ground by the bears they looked at each other with faces of knowing. The power was finally coming to the sailors. Together they said, "Twin Singing Harmony." Soon music seemed to appear from within them and surrounded the bears. It was strong and unnerving to the targets. The music seemed to penetrate the bears and dissolved them back into the stars they were. Then the stars were gone.

"Well, done! I knew you could do it!" I praised them.

"Who are you?" Mindy asked the strange man.

"He must be a constellation! That means he can’t be trusted." I said.

"But he helped us!" argued Wendy.

The man got up and said, "I’m Perseus, I think what the Queen’s doing is wrong. All I can tell you is that the Horoscope Stone will be found once all of the zodiac sailors are together. You are its protector." With that Perseus disappeared.

"He was hot! He’s mine!" said Wendy drooling.

"What about me!" Mindy yelled.

"He may have a brother." She replied.

"Yeah, Hercules. He’s a constellation." Mindy said.

"There you go!" Wendy’s voice sang.

"How do you know he’s good?" Mindy questioned.

"I don’t." Wendy said. They went on like this for hours and I’ll spare you rest!
