When Celeste, Noel and Cleo opened their eyes they could
not believe what they saw. They were now
standing in the middle of a forest.
There were green trees and mountains everywhere. Cleo had never seen such a beautiful
sight. She only knew the desert of
Egypt.
“Where are we?
Where is everyone else? What’s
going on? I don’t understand...” Celeste
rambled on.
“Wee.” Noel agreed.
That’s when they each could feel the ground move underneath their
feet. It was an earthquake. The three girls tried to hold on to each
other but it was too late. Each girl was
now on the opposite part of the forest.
“Now, I’m all alone.” Noel said to herself. She didn’t really like being by herself. Then she could feel the ground again. This time she was knocked off her feet.
When Noel opened her eyes again she was seeing a
memory. Noel was born one cold September
day. Her mother didn’t know who Noel’s
father was. After giving birth to Noel
her mother held her and said, “You are my early Christmas present. That’s why I’m naming you Noel.” Shortly after giving her daughter a name she
died. It was from complications of the
birth.
Noel was raised in a poor part of Pairs by her
grandmother. Noel loved her Gran very
much. It never seemed to bother her that
they didn’t have any money what so
ever. Noel did have a poodle name Louie
that she found.
When Noel turned 16 years old her Gran became very
sick. No longer could she work. Noel found herself a job at a
restaurant. It wasn’t a very good one,
but it didn’t matter. Noel quit school
much to the sadness of her Gran.
After a year Noel had gotten very good at cooking. She decided that it was her dream to become a
great chef and cook in the greatest gourmet restaurant of Paris. She had found a college in Tokyo, Japan that
had scholarships. Noel ran home to her
Gran to tell her about the school. Once
she got there Noel could tell her grandmother was getting worse. Louie was sitting on her Gran frowning.
“Are you feeling worse?” she asked her Gran.
“No, I’m fine my dear.
I heard your cooking has become requested by the costumers. I’m very proud of you. What was it you wanted to tell me?” Her grandmother asked. She could tell Noel had rushed home for a
reason.
Noel hid the application behind her back and said, “Nothing,
Gran. Sleep well.” Noel kissed her grandmother on the head and
then went to her room. What was she
thinking, she couldn’t leave her Gran.
She put the application in the trash and fell asleep.
A few weeks went by and Noel had forgotten all about the
school. Her Gran was doing worse and
that was the only thing on her mind.
Noel had even cut back her hours at the restaurant to take care of her.
That night she went home and found there was a letter for
her. It had come from Japan. “What is this?” she questioned to
herself. Noel opened it and read
it. The letter was notifying her that
she had been accepted to International University with a full scholarship. Noel beamed.
“Gran, I was accepted! I didn’t
even apply!”
When Noel went into her grandmother’s room the shock and
sadness overtook her. Noel fell to the
floor and cried. Louie hopped in her lap
and Noel cried on him. Her Gran had died
sometime during the day. Noel knew at
that moment that her grandmother had applied for her. If that was her dying wish then that was what
Noel would do.
That next year she was in Tokyo going to school to be a
great chef and make her grandmother proud.
Noel gave Louie to a neighbor not thinking she could take him with
her. Also, when she goes home for break
she stays with the owner of her old restaurant.
He is happy to have her cook there anytime.
Noel opened her eyes and got up. She looked around and saw her Gran looking
down at her. “How could you go back on
my wish? Being a sailor will not let you
be a great chef!” she yelled at Noel.
“How? You died?” Tears streamed down Noel’s face. She couldn’t believe her grandmother was
standing in front of her and saying such things.
“I’m just back to stop you from making a fool of both of
us.” her grandmother said. This made no
sense to Noel. Then her grandmother
threw fire at her. With a scream Noel
landed on the ground.
Once Noel could she stood back on her feet. “You can’t be her! Virgo Crystal Make-Up!” she shouted. Noel was covered with toupe colored
leaves. She became Super Sailor
Virgo. Her uniform changed a little. Around the bottom of her skirt was a green
stripe. Her back bows had grown
longer. The gem in her tiara was now in
the shape of a star. Her sleeves now had
clear parts. Her broach had also
changed. Still a star, it now had her
sailor crystal inside and the Virgo symbol on the outside.
“Do you think that will help you? Transforming is the only answer isn’t it?”
her grandmother said.
Before she could do anything Virgo yelled, “Virgo Earthly
Rays!” Green leaves surrounded her and
green rays of light were produced from the leaves. These rays hit her grandmother and destroyed
her.
“Can’t fool me, that was not my Gran!” Virgo yelled. Tears were still falling from her eyes when
toupe light covered her and she was gone.
