Two New Sailors

Mina’s Tale Part 6

On Serena and Nova’s eleventh birthday, Amy cam to Nova and requested that she be allowed to go to Mars and Jupiter to purchase material for the Fortress of the Warriors.  Amy and Nova made plans for a line of credit for Amy and discussed the way to detect the sailor warriors that had not been found.  Since all came from, so far, the ruling families; the best place to start the search would be with the princesses of the ruling houses.  Amy wondered why not to search among the princes of the houses.  Nova looked at the young woman, “Except for myself, all the Sailor Warriors will be female.  I have had dreams of them at night.  Good dreams and horrible nightmares, of times now, the next few years, and the future of a thousand years.”  Amy thought for a moment, “Will we be together in a thousand years.”  Nova sat down on a sofa, “Amy, the Sailor Warriors will be a strong force in the future and yes, we will be together as a family then but Serena will have to lead the team until I return.”  Amy realized that Nova didn’t want to talk any more, so she sat down beside him and held his hand.

The two sat there and started to plan where Amy should start her search.  Mars and Jupiter would be hard to find.  Three clans descended from the house that ruled Mars and anyone of the clans could have produced the necessary princess.  Jupiter was established, as an agrarian society ruled by a council would have hundreds of young ladies that could be Sailor Jupiter.

Nova decided that Serena should accompanied Amy on her quest but he needed someone to protect two of his most precious friends.  He asked a young prince from the Earth, Darien, to travel with the two.  Darien was recruited by Jadeite and recently had been promoted to cohort commander even though he was only fourteen years old.  Nova gave Amy the command of his newest warship, the Princess Serena, that was originally designed as a troop ship but it could use it massive hold to store the materials that Nova needed for the fortress.

As the only other noble on board, Darien ate all his meals with Amy and Serena.  Darien and Serena would talk for hours about each other’s childhood and experiences.  Naturally, the two girls continued their training and invite Darien to join them.  Darien was a natural student and Nova believed that he contained some form of energy in him that was similar but strangely different from their crystal energy.  Nova thought that he needed to keep an eye on the young man, who knows, he may play a large part in the future.  Darien secretly carried a crush on the Moon Princess and realized that this journey would give him the opportunity that he needed to try to develop a relationship.

When the warship arrived at Mars, all the ruling clans greeted the noble party: Merchant, Warrior and Priest.  All three clans had been notified what was expected of them and they had their daughters that were the correct age to be ladies-in-waiting and companions to the two princesses while they visited Mars.  Amy had made these arrangements, so she could spend time with the young ladies in her effort to find Sailor Mars.  Amy and Serena were not experienced as Nova at spotting the new sailors but finally, they found Raye.

Raye is the daughter of the High Priest of Mars and already had started in the services of mars’ religious service.  Raye and her parents did not wish her to leave the priesthood and enter training as a Sailor Warrior and refused the offer that Serena made to them.  The young girls were at a loss; they can’t understand how anyone could turn down their offer or how to proceed.  They were two eleven years old girls trying to persuade an entire clan to allow one of their most promising students to leave Mars and serve the royal family.  Serena contacted Nova concerning the situation.  Nova thought and researched and finally came up with the answer, “Serena, remind the clan of the Accords of Siridon.”  The Accords, writing when the Moon Kingdom was young, promised the Grand Duchess of House Moon with a companion, a suitable lady-in-waiting chosen by the ruling house of the Moon.  Armed with this knowledge, Amy approached the Priest clan and reminded them of the Accords and since Serena is a member of House Moon, her choice was Raye.  The clan realized that they had to abide by the accords and released Raye from her training and ordered her to be my lady-in-waiting.

Serena and Amy began to train Raye as a sailor warrior but Nova convinced them to allow her to continue her training as a priestess.  Raye wondered whom the girls were talking to, especially when no one was near them, until Serena held Raye’s hand and allowed Nova to make a psionic connection with Raye.  Raye was surprised that Nova were able to transmit his thoughts from the Moon and even more astonished when Amy and I joined in to make it a four way conversation.  Amy went to her cabin and returned with Raye’s transformation wand.  Serena instructed Raye on the uses of the wand and soon the young priestess transformed into the red suited, high-heeled clad Sailor Mars.

During the flight to Jupiter, Nova instructed Raye in the art of seeing the past and present.  “Nova,” asked Raye, “why don’t you teach me to see the future?”  Nova answered, “The future is malleable, it is forever changing, nothing solid exists and most minds can not comprehend the multitudes of time lines and they go mad.  I don’t want this to happen to you because you are important to the future.”  Raye could not tell if he was telling her the truth or teasing her as he did all the other sailors.

Being accompanied by two princesses awed Raye but the girls treated her as one of them and the crew spoke to her as Princess Raye.  Raye was upset about this treatment but Amy told her that she should accept the title because Nova had told everyone that all the sailor warriors were to be of noble births so everyone would think of her as Princess Raye, Sailor Mars.

The three girls became close friends during the trip to Jupiter.  They did have the first idea of how to find Sailor Jupiter because Jupiter was an agrarian society with over seventy colonies founded by the ruling house on Jupiter’s many moons.  Nova comforted them, “If Sailor Jupiter is destined to be found, she will come to you.  Just go ahead about your business of purchasing the wood that I need for the Fortress and let the crystals lead her to you.”

Serena had absolute faith in Nova and when they landed on the Jovian moons, she began looking for the various types of wood that Nova had selected.  Days passed into weeks and soon they were almost ready to return and Sailor Jupiter had not emerged from the crowd.  At their last stop, the girls visited a local inn for lunch and saw a tall girl waiting tables.  She had such a regal bearing that she seemed out of place with the rest of the staff.  Amy could not let the opportunity past and used her VR computer and discovered that the young girl, called Lita by the innkeeper, was Sailor Jupiter.  They motioned to the innkeeper and inquired of the girl.  She told them that Lita was the daughter of the local headman, who died in an accident with his wife.  The innkeeper was a friend of the family and took the orphaned girl under his care.  Amy explained who her troop was and why Lita had to come with them to the Moon.

Lita was happy to leave Jupiter but soon realized that she was in the company of noble daughters and began to think of herself as a duck among swans.  The girls were unable to convince Lita of her destiny but agreed to allow Serena to make a psionic connection with her.  They contacted Nova and he explained to Lita that she was Sailor Jupiter and she was needed to fight the Negaverse.

“But your Grace,” said Lita, “I am not a princess or even a daughter of a minor house.  I am only the daughter of a headman of a small community.”

Nova mentally sighed and spoke to all the Sailors, “You are all my beloved Sailor Warriors, and my love for each of you is great.  Together we will shake the Negaverse to its foundation.”

Raye thought, “How can you love Lita and me without ever having seen us.”

“Raye, my little priestess,” Nova answered, ‘I don’t have to see you to know you.  We know each other where it counts; we know each other souls.  Do you love me even though you have never seen me?”

Lita spoke softly, “Nova, you are our leader, we draw out life from you.  Of course, we love you; you are Sailor Nova and our soul mate.  We will always love you no matter what and I would lay down my life for you.”

The other sailors, including me, readily agreed with Lita.  Nova sighed, “My beloved sailors, you asked how I could love you without seeing you.  I think Lita has provided you with the answer.  Lita, Raye, I know that you are worried about how others would accept you because you are not a princess like the rest.  Don’t worry, I am not only Sailor Nova but Prince Nova, Grand Duke of the Realm and as such I will bestow upon Raye and you the titles of Princess of the Realm.”

Raye turned to Serena, “Can he do that?  I mean make us princesses?”

Serena simply nodded her head, “Nova seems to be able to do anything he pleases.  He does have the right of investment, so he can make you almost any noble that he wishes.”

The girls trained during the flight homeward.  Home, a word that Lita and Raye never envisioned but soon embraced.  All the little princesses were increasing in power under the psionic tutelage of Nova and Mina.  Nova knew the sailors were almost ready to accept the true power of the crystals.

When they arrived at the Moon, they were greeted by Nova, Serenity, and me backed by five legions of the High Guard in complete dress uniform.  Even Serena was awed by the display that Nova gave them on their arrival.  Never has the Moon Kingdom seen such a spectacle such as this reception.  The girls tentatively descended the ramp not knowing what they should expect from the crowd.  With one voice, as great shout came from the crowd, “Long Live the Sailor Warriors.”  They all smiled to each other for they realized that they had truly came home.

I broke away from the royal party and ran to the sailors.  I embraced each of them and gave them a kiss on the cheeks.  My family increased and without thinking I said, “Now, all my sisters are with me, I am so happy.”  Serenity came forward and greeted the girls and welcomed the Sailors Mars and Jupiter to the Moon.

Nova slowly walked to the gathering to greet the new sailors.  Raye and Lita rushed forward as he approached and they embraced and kissed him.  Raye looked at Nova, “Nova, my brother, my friend, my soul, I am so glad to see you for the first time.”

Amy approached me and asked, “Mina, I know we are close but we’ll not sisters and you always state things that are true.”  I slyly looked to Nova and Serenity and laughed, “I guess that I spoiled the secret.”  I looked at Serenity and she nodded her head.  I continued, “Nova is very persuasive.  He convinced Serenity that the Sailor Warrior must be of royal birth to be respected and command the Moon’s subjects so he had … Serenity adopt the rest of the Sailors as her daughter.”  I embraced Amy, “You are my sister, now and forever.  She also adopted me but that means that Nova married his niece but as long as he don’t care why should anyone else.”  Amy joined me in the laughter.

Serenity approached Serena, “I hope you understand.  Nova can give blood from a rock if he talks long enough.  Please don’t think less of me but we wanted to keep it a secret.”

Serena hugged her mother, “Understand, Mother, I always wanted to have sisters and now I have four of the best in the universe.”  Serena joined the rest of the Sailor Warriors in a group hug with Nova in the middle.  Nova looked at the females surrounding him and I could swear that he had a smile on his face of pure joy.  His family was around him and he was more complete than he had been in his entire life.

Nova had the material that Amy collected moved to the construction site but told the royal family that it would be about five years before they could move into their home.  Nova realized that during the next five years, they would have to live in the Palace with Serenity and she had thought of this because she prepared an adjoining suite for Amy, Raye, and Lita.

It took a while for the Sailors to develop a routine life but soon they were training, playing and spending their evening together in our suites.  Lita turned out to be an excellent cook and usually prepared the evening meal with the help of her family.  She has really come out of her shell; she is a beautiful young lady with a heart as large as Jupiter and with a talent of the martial arts.  Raye has grown over the months together; she is advising many holy men that journey to the Moon.  Her knowledge of the past and present holds her apart from the average person.  It was a good time, I had my family near but something was missing from my life.  I want to be a real wife to Nova; I want to feel his arms around me, as my body grows large with his child.  I will one day find the reason he will not consummate our marriage and then … well, he find out what he’s been missing.

So ends Part 6 of Mina’s Tale.  The Inner Sailors are together and they have formed a family but soon they have to gain new powers, the magic of the crystals and the ability to channel that power against the Negaverse.  What of our heroine, Mina, will she find Nova’s reason and force a change in their relationship (would be kind of stupid not to expect) since the next part is titled, “New Powers and a New Relationship”.
