Nova is my own creation as an explanation to how the sailor scouts had gained their powers and gives a little history of the Silver Kingdom.  Most of the story is written in first person because it did come from notes written by Mina.

Mina’s Tale Part 1

My Prince

Note:  The text below was compiled from the diaries and notes of Princess Mina of the House Venus.  It should be said that she wrote these pages many years after the original incidents and may have distorted in her own mind the events as they actually happened.

I remember the day that my eyes fell upon the face of my prince.  My parents always had me with them whenever they visited the provinces of Venus but this upcoming trip was the farthest that I will travel not only to the Moon, the seat of the solar system, but also a trip that would start my journey in life.  This trip would be the first time that I had left the soil of the planet that gave me birth for another world.  I have experienced sub-orbital flight before so I knew the feeling of weightlessness but the newer spaceship employed an invention of mass proportion that gave the ship a feel of gravity.  House Venus, a noble house of the Silver Kingdom, was small when compared to some of the other houses but we were closer to the royal family than most houses.  I was excited about this trip because I join my parents at the celebration of the royal children’s seventh birthday so I was trying to find the perfect gifts for the pair.

We were closer to the royal family because my mother was a close childhood friend of Queen Serenity and her second cousin, so I guess that Princess Serena was my fourth cousin and the Queen and Prince Nova was my third cousin.  I should explain that Princess Serena is Queen Serenity’s only child and Prince Nova was her brother but she raised Prince Nova since he was born.  The Queen had taken the throne when her parents were killed in an explosion at the hospital where both the former Queen and Queen Serenity were giving birth to their respected children.  Queen Serenity’s husband had passed away in some accident months before the delivery of his child.  After the explosion that took her parents’ lives, Queen Serenity had raised Nova as her own child and rumors had it that the three were very close.  I think that I wouldn’t like that life, being alone most of the time because you couldn’t play with other children because of security but my mother told me that they were happy with the company of each other.

I knew what the royal family looked like because my mother, Princess Ameri of Venus, would hang the most recent portrait in the Grand Hall and forbade anyone from removing it from its place of honor at the head of the table.  Mother would sit across from my father and just stare at her friend while we were eating dinner.  I think that she misses the Queen but will never say anything about it to my father.  She is devoted to him and to the house that she married into all those years ago.  My father was proud to possess wealth to keep our people living in comfort but House Venus is not a wealthy or powerful house.  We enjoyed more independence than most houses because, even though House Venus was one of the noble houses of the Silver Kingdom, we were never forced to concede fealty to the Moon.

I am very close to my mother, probably because I’m her only child.  I would sit for hours at our dining table going over the daily business and personal correspondence, with my mother, while staring at the portrait of the royal family.  I especially enjoy the times that we spent when she read me the letters that the Queen had sent her on a regular weekly basis.  I learned everything about the royal children, Nova and Serena, and probably developed a greater interest in reading because I would persuade Mother to give me the letters to reread on my own in my bedroom after the day was over.  One letter I treasure above all because I received the letter from Serena and Nova on my sixth birthday with a lovely blue and orange gown as a present.  I made a promise to myself that I would wear the gown when we were on the Moon for the birthday celebration when Father told me that we were traveling to the moon for the royal children seventh birthday.  The seventh birthday is very important to a child because it is the age that the child may inherit property in their name.  Before they reach the age of minority, eighteen being the age of majority, their parents or a guardian would oversee all property that they have until the reach the appropriate age.  I have heard of unusual cases where an orphan could request their property before minority but I would hate to think of any child fighting its guardian for control at such a young age.

Mother and I spent a week packing for my first trip off the planet.  You can’t imagine the baggage that you have to pack for a short time away from home.  You have to pack dresses, undergarments, stockings, shoes, and a thousand other things that you take for granted since they are just at your arm’s reach but when away from home you can’t just go to your closet and get your fifth favorite dress.  The reason for the amount of packing was that Queen Serenity had persuaded Mother and Father to spend a couple months on the Moon to catch up on past friendships and allow our two families grow closer together.  Mother and I carefully packed my birthday gown from Serena and Nova, pressing it between sheets of lint free paper, and we made sure that it was in perfect condition for I wanted to make a good impression on the royal family.  I am a little scared about how to act in front of the royal family so I spent many hours in front of my mirror practicing my curtsey to be prepared for when I will be introduced in the royal court.  I don’t want to embarrass my house.  I was in front of the mirror practicing when my father, Prince Rema, caught me in my formal greeting and walked to me.  I was nervous as he approached but he reached towards me and held my hand, and he practiced his bows while holding my hand.  I couldn’t be nervous when I had the bravest man in the solar system beside me.  Father was the old King’s general and aide but my mother told me that they were closer than commander and subordinate.  She said that they were friends and when she was of the age of majority, the King looked to only one man for a husband for his dearest cousin.  Father still wears the uniform of a commander of the King’s Guard even though he retired years ago.

Prince Nova informed my father that he was sending a spaceship to bring my family to the Moon.  I realized the great honor of a royal ship that was bestowed on my family as we noticed that Nova had sent his personal yacht to bring us to the moon.  He sent a message to my father that we would travel in style that was due us as a noble house and under his personal protection until we reached the Moon.  My jaw fell when I first glance the yacht that Nova sent for us.  I had never seen such a ship as the “Serenity” with the gleaming golden hull and the swept wings that graced the side of the ship.  As we boarded the yacht, I knew that the crew was first rate by their appearance and their treatment of us.  They treated us like royalty with the proper and formal Kanly customs; Kanly is the ancient way of the ruling houses and the customs and formal respect that they grant to each other.  They even called me by my mother’s family name, Princess Mina of the House Nuelin (pronounced New e Lynn), as was the Kanly manner of my title.  House Nuelin was the ruling house that was headed by Queen Serenity and even though I could claim membership in the house through my mother, we never did because I was born in and my mother married into House Venus.  House Nuelin was also the name of House Moon where the first King gave up the title to become the King of the Silver Kingdom.  Prince Nova is the head of House Moon since he is the oldest son that is not the King of the Silver Kingdom.  If he was born before the Queen, he would be King but destiny tends to play its own game with its own chess pieces.

That night I actually slept in Nova’s bed because his suite was the smaller of the royal staterooms on the yacht.  My parents were berthed in the Queen and Serena’s stateroom since they should have the larger of the two rooms but I was disappointed because Nova’s room was furnished with such luxury that my mind could not express the notion of its grandeur in written words.  As I started to unpack my traveling bag having placed the other trunks for the visits in the hold of the yacht, I noticed a box on the bed.  The note on the box was addressed to me and indicated the box was from Nova and said that he hoped that I would wear the clothing enclosed with the gown Serena and he sent to me at the celebration.  I quickly unwrapped the box and saw a golden jacket trimmed in blue that was a perfect match to the gown that I had received for my birthday.

Nova had an extensive library in his suite covering many subjects.  Most of the books that I looked through were beyond my understanding but it did include image books of the royal family.  These books were more of family pictures instead of the ones that were sent to the Houses and I felt like an intruder but I could not put down the books.  I spent hours looking at the images of the Queen, the princess, and the prince and began to imagine myself as part of them.  I would imagine, in my mind, myself on Nova’s arm talking to Serena and him about everyday matters.  The most striking image I have of Nova is those dark green eyes.  They are piercing when you first look at them but the more you look, the more you see the sadness of his life.  I saw him smiling in many of the pictures but it seems that something or someone haunts him.

The crew was members of Nova’s personal troops, the High Guard, and would respond to our every request with promptness and politeness.  It is strange for me to have this type of service since Mother insists that we sustain ourselves and personally cooks for her family.  I was assigned a lady-in-waiting by the name of Sara; she was an ensign in Nova’s navy and commands the small protocol staff that was assigned to the yacht.  She thought highly of Nova and had actually met him on a few occasions though others surrounded most of these on board the yacht.  Sara was born on one of the moons of Jupiter but soon moved to the moon with her family.  She just turned seventeen and had recently joined the High Guards but had risen in the ranks quickly.  She had a serious attitude when she attended me in public always making sure that I was safe and comfortable but was playful, like an older sister, when we were alone in my cabin.  Sara had a cot moved into the suite so she could be near me at night and we talked to the early hours of the morning when my eyelids were so heavy they couldn’t keep open.  She told me all about the High Guard and Prince Nova’s involvement with the troops and the armada of ships that he was assembling at Tycho Base.  I learned a great deal from Sara and now I can see how the noble houses, and even my father, had developed a fear of the small boy, his troops, and weaponry that he seem to be building and stockpiling.  Sara on more than one occasion emphasized that Nova was just protecting the Silver Kingdom but noble houses were not coming to his side because of the petty jealousy that they held for House Moon.

Slightly past the halfway point, we were alerted that the ship was taking a deviation from the flight plan because of an asteroid.  The asteroid was on a course that could bring it close to Venus within the next few years, so Nova told the Captain to destroy it before it could bring harm to the planet.  The Captain invited us to the bridge for the attack on the asteroid.  Everyone manned his or her stations and my father sat at the right of the captain as he moved the yacht into firing position.  Mother and I stood behind the command chair behind the Captain enjoying the best seat on the bridge.  Sara stood besides me and held my hand.  It’s unusually for her to show any emotion in public but I guess that she just wanted to reassure me that everything was going to be fine.  I was excited when the ship opened fire and played across the face of the object.  Soon, the asteroid started to glow brightly and a sudden explosion totally destroyed the asteroid; all that was left was dust floating in space.  I noticed that my father had a worried look on his face.  I heard a drip like water coming from his direction and noticed small drops of red were falling to the floor.  His hands were bleeding because they were clinched so tight that his fingernails had cut into his hands.

Father excused himself from the bridge feigning that he had other duties that he must attend to at the moment.  He left the bridge and went to hall that led to his stateroom.  I saw a look upon his face that would seal itself in my memory.  I saw the look of determination and, well, fear.  Mother extended her hand to me and I took it in mine and she led us back to my stateroom and held me close to her chest.  I was confused about my parents’ action and I looked at her and said, “Mother, what’s wrong with Father?”  My mother kissed me on the forehead and pulled me closer to her chest so that I could clearly hear the beating of her heart, “Mina, you’re still to young to understand but what this one small ship did to the asteroid has your father worried about the safety of house Venus and all the noble houses of the Silver Kingdom.  With the power that he possess, no single house or even all the houses could stand against him.”  She went on to tell me of the reports that Father had received concerning the weaponry that Nova was building and stockpiling on his fief holding on the moon.  From what we had just seen with the firing of the guns of the yacht that these reports were accurate as to the power of the weapons that he had constructed.  “With the weapons on a small ship that can destroy an asteroid a hundred times its size thinks what one of Nova’s warship against the any house’s spaceship, let alone against an entire fleet.  I’m not sure that this one small vessel could destroy all the ships of the houses.  His power is frightening to everyone because we don’t know why he is building such a force.”  I realized what my mother had said, Nova’s yacht possessed the power to destroy an asteroid, what could his warships do to a planet?  Maybe, the houses did have a worry since we didn’t know what he had planned.

I quickly pushed the thought of Nova attacking the noble houses from my head, I patted my mother’s hand and told her that Nova was an honorable person, the Queen’s brother, and our cousin and that as family he would never harm us but protect us from others.  Mother gave me a big hug and left to comfort my father.  Nova wouldn’t allow anything bad to happen to us.  He sent his yacht to bring us safely to the moon and he gave me the present of the blue and gold jacket as a present.  No, he cared about us, we are his family and he will never hurt his family … would he?

Sara entered the room in about an hour and started me a bath before I retire for the night.  As I prepare for my bath, I asked Sara about Nova and tried to gain information from her about his plans of war against the Houses.  Sara laughed and splashed me with warm water as it started to fill the tub.  “Don’t worry your head one bit, little one.  Prince Nova is not interested in the noble houses one bit.  He has more wealth than all of them put together so he doesn’t need their money or property.  No, my little one, he is making all the weapons and gathering his forces because he is preparing to fight the Negaverse.”  Sara began to speak to me of the Negaverse and the long war that took the lives of the former King and Queen and Queen Serenity’s husband.  As Sara continued talking, I realized that Nova was planning a more serious and longer battle and would require all the help from the Silver Kingdom and its houses to fight the monsters.  I believe that the turning point of my life occurred and I decided that I would give any support that I could find to Nova and his cause.  I know that his cause is right and just and I would pledge myself to his cause.

I talked to my parents about my concerns and findings when they came to tuck me into bed for the night.  I told them everything that Sara had told me and they seem to listen to my story.  “Daddy, Nova is fighting this battle against the monsters all by himself, shouldn’t we help him in the fight?  We are his family and we must support his causes.”  My father paced the room, even though Mother and I was part of the royal family, his loyalty lies to Venus, his walking slowed and he turned to me, “Mina, it’s a hard decision for me to make.  I have to think about the best for Venus and if Nova’s cause is not supported my single decision could set the other Houses against us if this Negaverse was a delusion of Nova’s but if it is true; he need all the help that all the Houses possess.”

The rest of the trip was uneventful and soon I could see the white glow of the moon against the green and blue background of the Earth.  We arrived at the Palace of the Moon and were received formally by Queen Serenity in the Royal Hall with all the nobles and servants in attendance.  She is a strikingly beautiful woman but her regal bearing overshadowed everyone in the room.  She talked for a few minutes about her happiness that House Venus could come and celebrate the birthday of her daughter and brother and asked if we would join her in her chambers for private talks.  I saw the eyes of the nobles upon us as Mother held my hand.  When we finally arrived at the Queen’s chambers and the door closed behind us, a sudden change happened as she turned to us and held her arms out from her side.  My mother ran to the Queen and they embraced each other like old friends that had been apart for years.  The Queen hugged my father the same as my mother and kissed him on the cheek.  Mother grabbed the Queen hand and brought her over to me, “Serenity, let me introduce you to the apple of my eyes.”  Mother motioned for me, I came to where they were and curtsey for the Queen but suddenly I was engulfed by her strong arms and was raised in her grasp.

“Mina, my goddaughter, I haven’t seen you since you was born.  My goodness, how beautiful you have become over the past six years.”  The Queen put me down and I began to scan the room looking for Nova and Serena.  The Queen must have seen my movements and took my hand, “Mina, Serena is at the dresser getting her new gown fitted and Nova is with his generals preparing for troop training at Tycho Base in a few days.  They will be at the party tonight but until then, you are my little girl.”  The Queen brought my hand to her lips and kissed it and we preceded my parents as we enter the royal rooms.

Queen Serenity paid a great deal of attention to me that afternoon fawning over me worst than my mother.  Mother unpacked my blue and orange gown and my blue and gold jacket and brought it over to the Queen, “Ameri, Serena may be young but she has developed such good taste in clothing. The gown is perfect for Mina.”  I thought that Queen Serenity picked out the gown but it was Serena’s choice, it means more to me now that she thought of me when she picked the gown.  They made me model the outfit by draping it over my clothes but this didn’t appeased them so they had me strip down to my undergarments and wear the gown normally.  They look at me closely going over every inch of my body and suddenly the Queen left and soon returned with a small silver box tied with an orange string.  Inside the box was a pair of golden-embroidered slippers with gold ribbons lacing themselves up to the ankle.  Queen Serenity sat me down on the corner of her bed and fitted the slippers on my feet and gently laced up the ribbons.  She winked at my mother, “I knew that those shoes would come in handy one day.  That’s why I would never get rid of them after all these years.”  Mother smiled at the Queen and nodded, “Your mother had always had good taste in shoes when she found those for your first party.  You know Sere, it looks like they found a new home.” I looked at myself in the mirror and heard them talking softly behind me, “Ameri, she is so beautiful”, I heard the Queen say, “in that dress but we need a different hairstyle that will set off that outfit to it fullest.  She has to look her best because she is my god daughter.”

They made me take off the outfit carefully and lead me to the bathroom where the Queen washed my hair.   Both my mother and the Queen took a brush from the dressing table in the bathroom and slowly brushed my hair dry.  Queen Serenity took a blue ribbon from the drawer of the dresser and tied my hair loosely behind my head where it fell full over my shoulders but kept it from falling in my face.  “Sere, she looks so much likes a little princess”.  The Queen looked at my mother and smile knowingly, “I know Ameri, that’s why I love brushing Serena’s hair every chance I get.  At least Serena and Mina inherited the old King’s hair, so full and manageable, all you need to do is dry and brush it and they look fine.  Even as long as hers, it dries quickly when brush.”  My thoughts drifted back to the mirror on the walls of the bathroom where I looked closely at my hair.  I just tried to see what the two of them saw as the two friends chattered about everything and paid little attention to me at the moment.  I could only think how I needed to act when I meet Serena and Nova tonight.  The rest of the afternoon was a blur as I watch them try out dresses for the next hour but they seem happy to be together again.

I was helping Mother chose a pair of shoes for the Queen when a young blonde girl with two flowing ponytails rushed into the room with a look of fury upon her face.  “Mother, you have to help me.  The attendants cannot get my hair the way I like it.  Look at me, I look like two horses put together with their worst halves showing to the world.”  I looked at the brash girl and then my mother.  She was beautiful was all that I can think to myself.  I realized that she must be Princess Serena, the Queen’s daughter and my cousin.  The Queen cleared her throat and pointed to my mother,  “Serena, where are your manners?  We have guests.”

Serena looked around the bathroom and realized that my mother and I were in the room seated upon a divan in the corner by Queen Serenity’s closet.  “Oh, excuse me.  I’m sorry to have bothered you.  I’ll be back later.”  The Queen hugged the little girl before she had a chance to leave; “It’s okay, dear.  Here let me help you with your hair.” Queen Serenity picked up a brush from her table, the same one that she used on me, and began to brush out Serena’s hair.  “Mother, you shouldn’t do this.  What about your company?”

“Oh dear, I should introduce you since they will be staying with us for a while.  Serena, this is my cousin, Ameri, and her daughter, Mina.  They have just arrived from Venus this afternoon and will attend the ball tonight to celebrate your birthday.”

I saw the wheels turning inside Serena’s head.  She was very deep in thought when suddenly she said.  “If they are your cousins then they are my cousins.”  Serena bolted from the chair by her mother, rushed across the room and hugged my mother.  My mother knelt down on the floor and embraced Serena holding her tight to her body.  “My, Serena, haven’t you grown since I last saw you six years ago.”  Serena looked over my mother’s shoulder at me and smiled; “Mina” was all she said as she left my mother’s arms and rushed to me.  She hugged me tightly and kissed me gently on the cheek.  “It’s so wonderful to meet you, I mean all the relatives that I knew has been Mother and Nova.  Now I have a cousin my age and a girl to boot.  Nova will be jealous when he meets you.”  She hugged me and would have continued if her mother had not put her back in the chair to continue to brush her hair.

The four of us continued to talk, nothing serious – just girl talk, when there was a knock on the door.  Serena went to the door and opened it just a crack and peeked out looking at the face that was staring her in the eye.  Serena jumped back with a start but quickly went back to the door and opened it more.  She was whispering something to the person behind the door and after a few seconds she opened the door.  I couldn’t hear what she was saying or any inkling about the person that she talked to but soon she came back with a black hair boy in tow.  She was holding his hand and pulling him to our group.  I just knew that he was Prince Nova with those piercing green eyes, a grand duke of the noblest house in the kingdom and even just seven years old, considered by most houses to be one of the driving forces in the Silver Millennium Empire.  His wealth and power is the cornerstone of the planets for his gifts to the planets to improve their comfort.  I can’t understand why more houses were not flocking to him.  He spends his wealth to raise the luxury of al the citizens of the Silver Kingdom but they still believe that he has other motives behind his wealth.

As Nova was introduced to my mother, all I could think of was not making a mistake in front of him.  I don’t know why I wanted to present myself in my best light, as I think about it, I realized that I feel in love with him in the exact moment that I saw him enter the room.  He held my mother’s hand in his and brought it up to his lips and kissed it and then he smiled and hugged her.  Mother took it all in stride as she embraced the young boy that was her cousin and kissed him on the cheek.  He left her in her chair and came towards me.  Serena elbowed me slightly and I came back to reality as he approached me.  He stood before me and Queen Serenity introduced me to him.  Nova slipped my hand in his hand, raised it to his lips, and kissed my hand.  I could feel the blood rush to my face and I knew that I was blushing, but I couldn’t help myself.

“I’m so happy that you were able to come here for the celebration.  I hope that Serena’s and mine birthday present fit you.”  I assured him that it did and I would be wearing it to tonight’s birthday ball.  Serena gathered up the boxes with my clothes, handed most of them to Nova, and told our mothers that we needed to start to dress and that I was coming with her so that they could be alone.  The three of us left the Queen’s chamber and went to Serena and Nova’s suite of rooms.  “Mina, why don’t you use the third bedroom to dress?”  “Serena, if you don’t mind I would rather keep you company.”

I haven’t realized until then that Nova was still holding my hand and truthfully, I hoped that he would continue because it felt so right.  The suite was close to the Queen’s, just a matter of about seventy feet but we talked as we walked so it took us longer than I expected.  AS we approached the door to the suite, Nova brought my hand up to his lips, “I am sorry, Mina, I wanted to spend some time with you before the reception but duty calls.  I have to meet with my generals to plan the training exercise in the next few days.”  Nova kissed my hand and went to Serena and kissed her on the cheek, “Take care of our little princess and if you need anything, just ask my staff.”

Nova left the room and my thoughts were running away with themselves.  He called me his “little princess”.  My heart was racing as I thought that he believe that I was worthy of that title.  I was starting to feel that he was really a little boy that had to grow up very quickly and left his childhood, that he should be enjoying, far in the past like falling leaves when the change of season were at its fullest.  I began to feel sorry for Nova, I had lived a pretty carefree life, in fact, and my only worry was usually what dress that I should wear.  Nova, it seemed, was a young boy who had the entire universe on his small shoulders and no one to share that incredible burden.

Serena broke me out of these thoughts and hand in hand went to her room with my boxes.  We entered the room and she looked at me with a very serious eye, Serena pulled out a jewelry case, “Mina, we have to find the perfect earring to wear with your gown.”  She dumped the case on her bed and we began to look through the pile of jewelry.  So many earrings and necklaces, thousands of them were in the box but she paid little notice of the wealth that was before her.  She was only interested in the appearance that they gave her and not the value of the stones that could run a planet for a couple of days.  Serena noticed my look, “Don’t worry Mina, I know how much this is worth but Nova is always giving me gifts and I don’t think that I could refuse him that pleasure.”  She insisted that I model almost every pair in the box for her.  As I put them on, we chatted, giggled, and told each other our secrets like we were sisters and not cousins that never met before in our lives.

“Serena, is it my imagination but does it seem that Nova is seven going on forty?  I mean that he seems so much older than seven.”  Serena looked away with a pained expression on her face and when she turns to me, I saw tears in her eyes and streaking down her cheeks.  “I think of Nova as my brother, not my uncle, but as much as I love him, I can’t get him to realize that others are supporting him and that he is not alone in his fight.  He believes that if he spends one moment away from thoughts of his efforts that he is not giving his parents the respect he should to avenge their deaths.”

I looked at the small girl, grasped her in my arms and when the sobs had stopped, I wiped the tears from her eyes.  I kissed her cheeks as she sit up on the bed, “Then it simple what we have to do, Serena.  We have to convince him together.  We have to show him that there are people that love him and would do anything for him.”  Serena cheered up and gave me a hug.

Serena and I began to unpack the boxes containing the gown and jacket and soon had the garments carefully arranged on her bed.  Serena held up my gown, “Is this the gown that Nova and I sent you for your birthday.”  She handed me the gown and I draped it on the front of me to show her the fit.  “I promised myself when I received it and heard about this trip that I would wear this gown for your and Nova’s birthday party.  The gown does goes so wonderful with the blue and gold jacket that Nova left for me on his yacht.”  Serena got a glint in her eyes when she saw the jacket lying next to the box.  She left her bedroom and went to Nova’s room next door to hers and slowly opened the door.  I heard her moving stuff around in the room and suddenly the sound stopped and she came back with a golden necklace emblazoned with a radiating star in her small hands.

“Why don’t you wear this with your gown?  It’s Nova’s personal designed seal but I think that it would go with your outfit.”  I protested to Serena but she won’t take no for an answer.  She put on the necklace and made me promise that I would wear the necklace on the outside of my gown for the party so everyone could see Nova’s seal upon me.  Serena found a pair of heart shaped ruby earrings and a tiara with an orange stone for me to wear.  We dressed and admired ourselves in the mirror for some time.  Serena wore a simple white and pink gown, a pair of golden crescent earrings, and a tiara with a blue sapphire.  She looked every inch the royal princess that would approach her age of minority at the ceremony tonight.

Mother came for me in the early evening; she was amazed by my “transformation” into a little princess but questioned the jewelry I was wearing.  Serena told her, “Well, Aunt Ameri, she needed that extra spark to set off her outfit.  It’s all right to wear the jewelry.  Most of it is mine except for her necklace but Nova won’t mind her wearing it tonight ”

My mother kissed Serena on the cheek, reached for my hand, and led me from the suite.  Mother looked at me in the hall, “You are so beautiful, a real princess.  I knew that one day you have to understand what it means to be a royal princess.  I need to talk to your father so we can start your training for your duties later in life.  If you are a royal princess and looked the part then you need to act the part.  It’s not only the fashion that you were that will set you apart from others tonight and in the future.”  I felt pride in my mother’s statement and I hoped that everyone at the ball would notice me.  I realized that the thought was selfish but I really wanted Nova to notice me tonight but I realize that it’s a large gathering and I’ll probably on see him in the reception line.

So ends the first part of Mina’s diaries.  These stories are not action based but more of a character development set in the Silver Kingdom.  The next series will involve the birthday ball for Serena and Nova.
